Agree; that's why I noted that education comes in many forms, and one form of education for me may be the holy grail, but a trap for another. I think it's important to understand "what" you want to do before deciding the appropriate form of education.

While going to college without a clear purpose can serve as an education, it can be a very, very costly life lesson; a lesson that holds folks back from buying a home or investing in their 401k if they're strapped with a $75k loan and a $32k a year job.
