I’ve talked about this before, but the partner program (in my opinion) is the least profitable method of monetization on this platform.
Affiliate marketing, brand collaborations, and digital products tend to yield much better results for writers.
After establishing a decent bank of content during my first year on Medium, I decided to start working with companies as an affiliate (but only companies that I believe will add a ton of value to my audience).
In my first year, I did about $318,000 in sales.
In my opinion, that’s not too shabby for a newbie!
That said — I’ve shied away from courses and digital products.
I see so many content creators jump in and launch a course almost immediately after starting their blog, Youtube Channel, etc.
